ORANGE SLICE BARS

½ c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 TB cream or milk
½ t. vanilla
½ t. salt
1 t. baking powder
1-1/2 c. flour
1-1/2 c. candy orange slices, chopped
1 c. chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a small oblong pyrex dish (approximately 7X12).

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, milk and vanilla and continue beating. Sift salt, baking powder and flour together and gradually beat it into the batter. Stir in orange slices and nuts. Bake approximately 25 minutes. Cut into squares while still warm. It will be hard to cut through the orange slices once it has cooled.
