PEANUT BLOSSOM COOKIES


½ c. shortening
½ c. brown sugar
½ c. sugar
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
½ c. peanut butter
2 TB milk
1-3/4 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
½ t. salt
Sugar
48 chocolate candy kisses

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream shortening and sugars. Add egg, vanilla, peanut butter and milk. Mix well. Add dry ingredients and mix at lowest speed of mixer until dough forms. Shape dough into small balls. Roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and with 2 fingers gently flatten ball. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10-15 minutes. Top each cookie with a candy while hot from oven, pressing firmly. Cool until candy gets firm again. Yields 48 cookies.
