BLACKBERRY CRUSH

Jeana brought the fixins for this cocktail to Scott’s birthday celebration, and we really liked it a lot.  It is refreshing without being too sweet.  We made it to sip on in the pool at KK’s birthday celebration, and everyone there liked it as well.  It is always nice to find a new summery drink!

Per drink:

4 blackberries
1 sprig of fresh mint
1 TB fresh lemon juice
1 TB simple syrup*
1-1/4 oz. vodka
Sparkling mineral water
Ice

In a glass muddle the blackberries, mint, lemon juice and simple syrup.  Add ice and vodka and fill the glass with the mineral water.  It is very important that you stir it very well to get all the berry juices mixed in.

*To make simple syrup bring 1 c. water and 1 c. sugar to boil.  Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved and clear.  Cool and keep refrigerated.
