SAUSAGE BALLS

If you are over 40 and don't already have this recipe, I will be shocked.  It was probably at every party I went to for 20 years -- to the point that I don't think about making it any more because it was so overdone for years.  However, for my children and you younger cooks, this is a great, hearty appetizer.  I have even served them with brunch.  You can easily make them in advance.  Freeze them on a cookie sheet and then take them off and store them in a zip lock bag until ready to bake.  I used to always serve them with the Hot Mustard recipe in this section if I was serving them as an appetizer.  So easy, yet really good.

3 c. Bisquick, or any biscuit mix
1 lb. pan sausage
10 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, grated
Dash of cayenne pepper

Mix all ingredients and form bite-size balls. Bake for about 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

Serve with your favorite seasoned mustard.
