OVEN FRIES

This came from a Weight Watchers recipe, but now my family prefers them over deep-fried fries. You can have a French fry without the guilt and honestly the lack of grease feels better on our tummies. We dip them in catsup anyway! The trick is to slice them fairly thin so they will brown and get crispy.

Idaho potatoes
Olive oil
Salt and pepper (or season salt or garlic salt – your preference)

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Spray a cookie sheet with Pam. Slice the potatoes and put them in a bowl. Toss them with a little olive oil – just until all are covered – about 2 TB. Season and spread out on a cookie sheet – use two if you are doing a lot – you don’t want them crowded or they won’t brown properly. Bake in the oven until the desired texture – probably at least 30 minutes, maybe more depending on how thick you sliced them. Periodically turn them over so they will continue browning.
