From Hungry Girl: Here's what experts have said about eating before you exercise:
You should eat 30 to 45 minutes before you work out. Fueling your body with food pre-workout gives you the energy to exercise. The more energy you have, the harder you can work. And working hard burns calories!
Be aware of your calorie intake and how many you'll burn during your workout. Many people underestimate how many calories they consume and overestimate how many they burn. That's a bad combination.
Drink two to three glasses of water about 30 minutes to an hour before your workout. This will keep you hydrated and energetic. Keep drinking water throughout your workout, too.
Pay attention to your body and don't start working out if you're feeling hungry. After you're done, you'll want to make sensible food decisions. If you're starving, you'll be more likely to eat whatever’s available to you—bad idea.
